Bremen Jazzahead Festival is an exhibition and meeting point for the international jazz scene.
Since its premiere in 2006, the event has enriched the regional and national cultural scene with its high quality and diverse jazz as well as with international flair.
Bremen Jazzahead Festival
Bremen Jazzahead Festival is not a regular music festival where bands can apply to play – instead, jazzahead! is an international industry meeting for the jazz professionals from all over the world with an integrated showcase festival.
The 2017 edition of the event will consist of these showcase modules: Finnish Night, European Jazz Meeting, German Jazz Expo and Overseas Night.
An international jury of experts will then review all applications and select which of the proposed bands/artists will get one of the 40 showcase slots.
Bremen Jazzahead is not just a „must-go event“ for the international jazz industry – it is a cultural festival for any jazz lover.
Partner Country 2017: Finland In cooperation with Music Finland and Finnland-Institut in Germany.
Finland as jazzahead!’s partner country 2017 will be highlighted with its jazz scene during jazzahead! festival and trade fair.
The opening showcase night is dedicated to the partner country, presenting eight Finnish bands at the stages in Hall 7 and Kulturzentrum Schlachthof.
At the fair, a partner country lounge as well as a stand of the partner country will be the place to get in contact with the Finnish jazz scene and its protagonists.
During the jazzahead! festival (link zu festival), Finland will also be the focus point of various events that introduce Finnish culture to the Bremen based audience far beyond jazz and music.
This festival, starting April 13th, will over the course of two and a half weeks present literature, art, theatre, performances as well as music and will find its culmination point during the jazzahead! trade fair weekend.
