Each year in early June, tens of thousands of music lovers from throughout the country flock to the suburbs of Washington, D.C. to attend this weekend of cool jazz and soul: The Capital Jazz Fest.
Started in 1993, this multi-day, multi-stage outdoor music festival, which attracts music lovers from 44 states, is more than just a concert, it’s an event.

It’s a place to people-watch, eat, drink, shop, mingle, relax, soak in the rays, make new friends, and of course hear some of the coolest jazz and soul music on the planet!
In between musical sets, enjoy fine art and crafts at the Festival Marketplace, culinary treats at the food court, plus artist workshops and meet & greets.
And after the show, check out the late night events at our host hotel, the Marriott BWI Airport hotel.
The Capital Jazz Fest takes place at Merriweather Post Pavilion, located at 10475 Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia, Maryland. The venue is 28 miles northeast of Washington, D.C. and 18 miles southwest of Baltimore.

Arrive early for best choice of parking. Overflow parking is available at various nearby locations.
The host hotel for the 2017 Capital Jazz Fest is the Marriott BWI Airport Hotel.
The hotel will host our annual Late-Night festival events, including the Late-Night Soul Showcase (Friday, June 2nd) and the Official Festival After-Party (Saturday, June 3rd).

The Capital Jazz Fest is held rain or shine. The talent lineup for the 2017 festival will be announced in March 2017.
