The Dominican Republic Jazz Festival is an annual musical event that takes place on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic, on the beautiful beaches of Cabarete, Sosua and Puerto Plata.
The Festival has been running since 1992 and is the oldest and most important free music festival on the island.

The Dominican Republic Jazz Festival is the most important platform for the dissemination of Jazz and Latin music expansion in the Caribbean. It represents Latin Jazz at its best.
Festival participants have included such great artists such as: Arturo Sandoval, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Nestor Torres, Ignacio Berroa, Joe Lovano, Rufus Reid, Stanley Jordan, Chucho Valdez, Chichi Peralta, Sandy Gabriel, Marco Pignataro, Matt Marvuglio, Danilo Pérez, Antonio Sánchez, Claudia Acuña.
Fedujazz, the non-profit Education Foundation of the Festival offers workshops and clinics to children from the closest “barrios” as well as specialized Workshops for musicians.
Many of the artists participating in the Dominican Republic Jazz Festival give free workshops in order to help in the musical motivation and cultural development of hundreds of local children every year.
Cabarete is only 15 minutes East of Sosua and only 25 minutes east from Puerto Plata Gregorio Luperon International Airport on the North Cost of the Dominican Republic.
A small seaside town located between a bay and a lagoon, Cabarete is really popular with a youthful and active clientele, both for the young and the young at heart.

There are two international airports with easy access to the Dominican Republic Jazz Festival. The closest is the International Airport Gregorio Luperón in Puerto Plata (POP), located 25 minutes from Cabarete.
The other option is Santiago airport, Cibao International (STI), located 90 minutes from Cabarete.
