The Regional Transit Authority hopes New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival fans will consider skipping the parking hassle by taking the bus to the big show in Mid-City.

If you’re coming from the French Quarter, the RTA suggests you take the Canal Street streetcar line, which stops at Esplanade Avenue near City Park, just a few blocks from the Fair Grounds.

90-Carrollton bus

If you’re coming from Uptown, take the 32-Leonidas bus or the 90-Carrollton bus.

If you’re coming from the CBD or Esplanade Ridge take the 91-Jackson/Esplanade bus.

If you’re coming from Gentilly or New Orleans East take the 94-Broad line.

The RTA website includes maps of all 34 New Orleans bus routes and five streetcar lines to plan your connections. The fare is $1.25 with transfers for 25 cents.

Beat that, Uber.

There will still be a little walking involved to get to the Fair Grounds gates, so bicycle riders might consider putting their bikes on the bus racks.
